I applied as a freshman for the fall through the suny app as regular decision. I still haven't heard back from buffalo. My online status still says application complete but no word on the decision. Is anyone else still waiting for their admission decision?

Im still waiting for a reply, but im a transfer student

I am also waiting for a reply. I applied for regular admission as a freshmen.

Sent from my HUAWEI-M860 using CC App

It comes in the mail, the status does not change online past complete. If you haven’t gotten your decision by now, you should call and ask. Any decision that takes longer than April 1st without any notification is one you should call and question about.

I’m a transfer, still waiting to hear from UB. You have until May 1 to accept your offer of admission, or ten days after the date of acceptance if accepted after April 20. So I’m guessing it isn’t uncommon that some people just haven’t heard by now. I was in a chat for transfer students and one of the admissions representatives said they were using a new system this year and things have been slower than usual. I’m hoping to get my letter this week because there’s another school I need to send my response to if I don’t get word from UB. Good luck!

So have you guys heard back yet? I called a few days ago and was told that I was supposed to receive it from 1-2 weeks from that point. Thats like 5 days from the May 1st deadline. Did you guys get accepted?

I still have not heard. I’m expecting something this week. I just have a feeling it will come this week…

i called them up today and they said it can be from may to a week before classes…

Do they not understand that we may have deadlines for other schools? I may have to accept my other offer and then decide whether or not I want to forfeit the $125 and go to UB if accepted. It’s kind of annoying.

its bs, and the lady on the phone told me they only go through around 60 apps a day…

It’s really irresponsible on their part to leave people hanging like this. UB was my first choice and I really don’t want to have to lose my deposit on another school if I’m accepted late. I’m from out of state and every decision I have to make depends on where I’m going.

i totally understand where your coming from. there my first choice too. my deposit for oswego is due may 11th and i really dont want to have to pay a deposit i may lose, but if i dont pay it and hope for buffalo and get rejected then im screwed.

I just got my acceptance letter on Monday. When did you guys submit your apps? I submitted my app as a transfer back in late January/early February I believe, but I didn’t submit my transcripts from high school until the end of March. They responded to me pretty quickly considering I submitted transcripts sort of late, so I’m sure you guys won’t be waiting too much longer, hopefully you’ll know this week.

I’m kind of having the same problem as some of you guys with Stony Brook. I don’t want to lose my chances at Buffalo just because Stony are taking longer. Buffalo is my second choice after Stony Brook.

Good luck to all of you.

I don’t think they’re going to take that long.

I submitted my application last week (Yes, I know, it’s extremely late, but they’re rolling.) and I’ve actually made UBuff my first choice next to Stony Brook.

I called today and the lady said that I should receive a decision within “a couple of weeks.”
Now, whether “a couple of weeks” mean two weeks or, in a more colloquial meaning, a few weeks, is pretty vague. They still have not received my high school transcripts, so I don’t know when to expect a response. I paid my deposits to Stony Brook in case, though. Hopefully she’s right and everyone hears back soon.

This school has rolling admissions right? Is it too late for me to apply?

In response to CherieMarie, no it’s not too late. They do have rolling admissions. However I don’t know how good your chances are at this time. But it’s worth a shot, I don’t really know if they get more selective as it gets closer to the semester or not, so go for it, just don’t take your time with it.

And Hong214, how long ago did you apply to Stony Brook?

I applied to Stony Brook way earlier; I believe around November-Decemberish. I’ve only recently decided, after visiting Stony, that I rather go to Buffalo.

i called them today and they said my decision is in the mail. is there a way to check my decision online or for them to give it to me over the phone?

If it’s in the mail it should only be a couple more days at the most before you’ll know. There’s nothing they can tell you over the phone. You could keep checking online to see if anything changes but mine never did.

I got my acceptance letter today, dated April 21.

I still haven’t gotten anything, but at this point, I’m expecting a rejection because it is so late. @Jorjor, what major did you apply for? and what was ur gpa/sat’s?
