I applied as a transfer student and still haven't heard back yet. I signed a TAG and applied as a Computer Engineering major. I have above a 3.0 and will have IGETC before I enroll. The site says ...

"All transfer applicants who have been accepted to UCSD and indicated an open engineering major on their application are placed directly into that major."

Being that Computer Engineering is an open major, I should be guaranteed acceptance to both the school and my major, correct?

Note: I’ve completed many of the major courses but not all. But, it sounds as if UCSD will accept anyone into the major who signs a TAG agreement even if they have to complete all their major courses AFTER transfer? Can that be right?

I am still waiting too! i am about to start pulling my hair out. lol I am a transfer student as well. i have completed the 60 units, have over a 3.0, but still have to complete a couple of my major prep courses. this is what really makes me nervous. i have already been rejected from sdsu and ucsd is the only other school i applied to.

also, i got denied from sdsu because i still had two major prep courses to complete. i am going to appeal even though it probably won’t get me anywhere.

What’s your major? As far as I can understand it, and according to what my counselors have said, if you apply to UCSD with TAG for an open major, you’re automatically guaranteed admittance to both the school and major. I wish they would just let me know already so I can stop worrying though.

my major for ucsd is biological anthropology, and for sdsu it was environmental studies. i wonder if that just applies to ucsd? i spoke with a counselor from miramar and she said that i got denied from sdsu because of the fact that i had not completed my major prep courses. i was so bummed! i qualified in every other area though. i hope that it is not the same case with ucsd. if i don’t make it this year i will have to wait to apply in the fall, and if i get admitted the next time around, i won’t be attending until fall 2011!! i am almost 30 and just want to be done with school!!

I am also a TAG Computer Engineering major. I have also not heard. I did find this, [UCSD Transfer Admit Day RSVP](http://admissions.ucsd.edu/reservations/transferadmit.aspx), link from another thread. I was able to RSVP and from the other thread some are not. Not sure if that means everything is cool or not, but it makes me feel a little better. Goodluck everyone!

I applied for UCSD for Psychology and I’m still waiting to hear from them. I have a 3.5 GPA and I think I have completed all the IGETC course equivalents (I took most of my classes on a Florida Community College and only the last 4 at a California CC)…does that make me not eligible for IGETC? The advisors at my college did not make that very clear.
Also, I have been working in order to put myself through college since day 1, so that left me with no time of EC…the problem is that I didn’t write that on my personal statement bc i didn’t think that was the question being asked and I didn’t wanna make them “pity” me. Now I’m starting to regret that decision. Can anyone offer any input, I’m going crazy with this wait…

I finally broke down and called admission today. They briefly explained that their admission officers randomly select which application to look at. So the fact that we have not heard yet does in no way insinuate we are less likely to be admitted. Hope this helps ease some minds.
