I just thought I would make this lovely thread for all of my fellow procrastinators out there. Hang in there, it's almost over!

Yes.
And I will tell this to my grandkids when they think they’ve been the worst procrastinators: I put off writing my main common app essay till today.
■■■ (but not really, I deserve it).

Mine’s due the 15th but I’m forcing myself to get it over with tonight xD

Good luck everyone!

lonelywayfarer- Oh, gosh. And I thought I was bad. Well, I’m sure you’ll get it done. Procrastination somehow always ends up working out. :]

Luckily, I had to do my Common app by Nov. 1 for EA apps but totally procrastinated my only supplement for RD until 30 and 31 of Dec.

Procrastinators will rule the world! (tomorrow! we swear!)

I, uh, haven’t started that common app essay…due today.
BAM.

Oh, you still have a ripe 4 1/2 hours. :]

My thoughts exactly
I work best with quickly approaching deadlines anyway.

just finished my common app essay and still have three supplements left.
kill me now

That’s rough. If it makes you feel any better, I like the supplement I just wrote more than I like my Common App essay. How unfortunate.

have you guys noticed all the warnings about cut off PDFs? do u think cut off PDFs matter if ur app looks fine electronically and ur only sending them in electronically?

yes, be sure to look at the “print preview” before you submit. The problem areas are the EC’s especially — some of it may get cut off at the end. So just check print preview and maybe retype to fit. However, all that being said, colleges are aware of the problem and if you have words cut off they do not care really, they know it’s Common app’s problem and not yours. But for perfectionists out there, print preview before submit ;)

Wow, best of luck to all of you!! I am sincerely impressed haha

I just have to write a Why Columbia essay, and I’ll be done.

Yale apps were due last night, so I don’t have to worry about my commonapp essay today. I’ve been working on 3 supplements, though. I’m roughly 500 words shy of being completely done with college apps (until January 15th).
I usually hate parting with money, but I’ll be doing a happy dance once I pay the admissions fees! It’ll all be over soon :)

Good luck everyone!

I can’t for the life of me think of a topic. Could be a problem. Though once I come up with one it shouldn’t take me more than 20 minutes to write and another 15 to edit. As long as I’ve started by 10:30 I’ll be happy!

If it helps, I sometimes find random word generators to be a source of inspiration. They help kick start my brain a bit. :)

I randomly got started on an essay. It’s drafted, and I’m having some friends read it. Kinda a risky topic…I sorta wrote about writing the essay three hours before it’s due.

Word generators! That will be good for future reference :)

Haha I was totally thinking about writing an essay based on “the culture of procrastinators”! I ended up doing something boring with leadership, though.

Haha awesome! I wrote about being a testament to the failure of new years resolutions. I’m sure the leadership essay is awesome though. Colleges can never get enough of leadership :)
