My twin sister is still laboring over all her essays... MU-HAHAHAHA!!

Argh!! I finished 5 essays in one day today.......but two of them stil need so much improvement, and they are all due 1st Jan......Im SCREWD!

i've got a bunch more...
...
...
basically no sleep for me until 11:59 of 1/1/08

i hate the why college x type of questions...

What really depresses me is that some essays written in half an hour or so are better than my essay which I spent at least 20 hours working on.

I still have one more to write, I am getting addicted to this whole process. I might apply to colleges again next year. It's so much fun :)

i hate those 'why _____' essays too-
I am an international student- i haven't been to the campus nor know anything particular about them- what do i say? I want to go your college because you give good aid and are on _ no. on the us news list :)

I agree!!!!!!!!
I just can't get the right concept for those 'why'essays...

I am an international student as well, and i believe that the whole purpose of those "why_______" questions is to show that you have researched that college or university. i think they know that the main reason for you applying there is the fin aid they give, but they still want to know that you are interested in them academically. i mainly researched the college online and read all the brochures they sent me and it worked pretty much ok for me. i just finished sending my supplements for the colleges due 1st of jan this morning.

But wouldn't that be too generic to write about the things that are already mentioned in the information booklet and the internet?
I dono... As a mediocre applicant, applying to those competitive schools, I thought standing out 'Why' essay would be the way to boost up my chance.
Anyway now I finished all those crappy Why questions... It's time for me to concentrate on the other two hellish 250 word essays.

well thats what i am doing in the end- i am researching the college on some sites and college search and then whatever i like particularly about the college i write about that.

"why" is always the hardest question to answer. yep.

(in reference to my previous post, which I can't edit anymore)

When I read "my" post, I thought what the heck?! I don't have a twin sister!!
Anyway, it turned out one of my friends who was over at my house had submitted it as a joke...

I know, I don't get his sense of humor either...

i second lolapurple

You need lots of time to write these essays. Write it, put it away, then look at it again.

But of course now we don't have enough time.

Trust me -- there are things you will have wanted to mention -- but now regret not including it earlier.

We are just over a day away from that deadly deadline (Jan 1)! For those who are still writing, I wish you all luck in these last hours of hair-pulling anxiety and frantic typing.

"What really depresses me is that some essays written in half an hour or so are better than my essay which I spent at least 20 hours working on."

This idea itself (not essay writing, but creating an art-piece) is the subject of one of my UChicago essays.

If you suppress instinct and overthink too much, you will find the essay writing labourious.

I'm still writing my essays. I'm happy I submitted my essays on time for Yale's 12/31 deadline.

I know the essays keep everybody from pressing submit.

Hopefully, everybody everybody finishes their essays.

Good Luck Everybody!

i'm falling into an essay coma.

1 more full essay to write.
2 short responses.
3 super short responses.

and then i can say its all OVER
