Anyone studying abroad or away from parents atm?

I am just wondering, on average, how many times do you talk to your parents per day? Do they phone you everyday?

My mom texts me almost every day about something while I’m here at college. I only actually get a call or call home once or twice a week probably, on average- probably once or twice to both my mom and dad. Instead of texting, my dad sometimes emails me, since he doesn’t text.

Well since I’m abroad texting/phoning would be really expensive.

We arrange by email to skype… once a week or less?

We have several kids who live elsewhere .Eldest is infrequent caller . (boy) Son #2 calls us 1x week . Son#3 is more frequent . D,19 calls every other day . We pay a flat rate for Sweden and she has endless DAILY calls to boyfriend .They also Skype .When son lived in Bei Jing , we Skyped 1x a week .See what feels right for you .

Probably once maybe twice a semester.

I see them about once a month, no real reason not to since I don’t go to school that far (plus I gotta get money from my dad lol).

I go to school a long way from home. We Skype once per week and text/email in between if anything comes up.

Maybe once a week or so, if that.

I’m in the “away from parents” group, and I only talk to my parents a few times a month, usually on facebook.

Hah no leash there.

I don’t think I could avoid talking to my parents for more than 2 weeks. It’s just nice.

That’s really nice that you say it is nice to talk to your parents. DD texts me every day or two, and we talk a couple of times a week, usually while she is walking to class. Most of the time it is about some small detail (do you know…) but sometimes I think she just needs a dose of home. I try to make every conversation “nice” - it is really fun but not always easy to be on the opposite coast from the people who know you best. I try to load her up on comments about how proud we are and minimize negativity.
