Hi,

I am interested in hearing from students who successfully transferred into Wash U. What was the process like? Anyone transfer in after being accepted by Wash U as a Freshman, then going elsewhere?

Thanks!

Momofthree: My daughter transferred to Wash U after her freshman year at a top LAC. She had been waitlisted at Wash U as a high school senior. For applicants who were accepted or waitlisted in the first round, the transfer process at Wash U is somewhat streamlined. Portions of the original application are reactivated. I dont think Wash U even required a new essay (not absolutely sure on that one you need to check with the transfer people for specifics). I do think it's still vital, even if not required, that your D include an essay explaining why she wants to transfer and why shed be an asset to the campus.

If you have specific questions, I'd be happy to talk to you via PM. Transferring was the right decision for my D, and she is so happy at Wash U.

Thanks, wjb! Sent you a PM!
