Anyone SUPER nervous about interviews?

I’m interviewing at Brandeis and Middlebury when I go visit in August. I agree with the attire that T26E4 mentioned. I am super nervous ahhh, but I’ll let my personality shine through!

@ Anony: I would interview if you want merit at let’s say Brandeis. They really are important to do if they are offered. But, for the Ivies for example, they offer alumni ones that are optional and not everyone can get one.

So if they are offered, I kind of have to do them if I want in? I’m just worried that it will be a bad interview and I’ll be better off not doing one at all. Thoughts?

Thanks for the advice guys!

I think you’ll do fine! While some interviewers do like to play their interviews in a professional, emotionally vapid manner, I would say that the vast majority choose to act as interviewers because they love to talk and enjoy meeting vibrant new people.

The rule for what to wear is simply to try to get your own attire as similar as the interviewer’s. If you’ve facebook searched a particular interviewer’s profile and notice that he’s only a year out of graduation, you may want to consider wearing something more casual.

I believe most schools promise you that if, for any reason you cannot arrange an on-campus interview, you will not be at a particular disadvantage. My advice is to do what you can to obtain an alumni interview which I am sure is considered equal in value as the on-campus counterpart. However, know that if you approach neither of these options when they are offered to you, you may be at a “disadvantage”. This is because most schools will promise that these experiences can only help and will never hinder an applicant, and if you miss out on such an opportunity, it might not be so good for you. Good luck!

Thanks! Hopefully, it can only help! I’m not so sure though… ha :]
