Anyone surprised by literature?

I was actually opposite. I got around 700 on all my practice tests and 730 on the real thing in June (I only got 690 in May).

I know someone else may have said this, but I think literature is probably the hardest test to study for because it tests innate ability more than any of the other subject tests. In my case, I made a 790 on this test, but I didn’t study at all. My last English class was in the fall of 2007. Don’t take me the wrong way… I’m not trying to brag since I worked myself silly trying to improve my SAT I math score, but the highest I could pull was a 680. Also, I was somewhat surprised by the curve because I left one blank and missed at least two.

I got a 760 on it…
I actually expected higher because I’m just good at reading…and my Chem score even beats my Literature score, which surprised me. But I’m satisfied with my score. I was in AP Lang and Comp at the time I took it, it didn’t help with it at all, really. I think mine was more natural ability (I hope I don’t sound arrogant!), and things I had picked up through the years of high school.
I do think being in AP Lit could help on this test a little–there are some technical terms that I didn’t understand and had to interpret

Also a passage I had read in school freshman year showed up which was great because we had already done all the analysis on it and luckily I remembered it

I was surprised in a bad way. Expected like 40 points higher than I got. :(

Ah Claire…like my D. She got a 780 in Lit, but a 620 in Math 1. Didn’t study for either. She had 740 on math portion of SAT 1 as a Junior. It will be enlightening to see the Math 1 SAT II curve. Live and learn.

To the person who asked if anyone had taken lit…I THINK I’m right in that MOST high schools have A/P English Lang/Comp in 11th…and that’s PROB the average age of most Lit test takers…Junior.

Most schools have their A/P Lang/LIT as Seniors. I think. At least that’s how it is around “this neck o’ the woods”.

can anyone please suggest the best review book for lit: barrons, PR, kaplan, or something else?

Okay well, the curve for Math I is notoriously hard, so dont be surprised if you score lower than you expected ^^
As for Lit, I got a 790 but was also expecting an 800. I’m not complaining TOO much, but I would like to see what the curve was, as I didn’t leave any blank and am pretty sure I didn’t miss more than two or three questions…
