Could anyone that took the CASE exam tell me what it's like? How difficult is it? What's the best syllabus for the exam? What sort of score do you need to get? How long should I prepare for? Btw, I took AP Physics C but I forgot nearly all my E&M.

I heard it’s all free-response and it’s much easier than taking the course itself.
Are you sure you’re allowed to take it though? They have explicit instructions on the website that says the PHYS case isn’t offered as a “retake” for the AP exam; in other words, if you didn’t get a sufficient AP score the first time, they’re not going to make you take the class.

Kingpin: It was very basic when I took it during Fall 2011. Warning: there were some basic thermo questions which was unexpected but it was just as difficult as an old AP Physics B exam (very little calc involved). However, to be safe, I’d follow the syllabus listed on the website and thoroughly learn the material either through a textbook, an old AP Physics C review book, and/or MIT OCW lectures. Be sure to also do a LOT of practice problems! Enroll on the P2213 blackboard site for practice problems.

On eligibility:
Yes, you need to explicitly satisfy the requirements stated on the website, but they are definitely not very well enforced (when I listed my old physics teacher, the Prof. didn’t even ask him for his first name, so there was no way he could’ve contacted him…)
