have any of you ever taken summer courses at a community college? if so, were they useful? (ie. do they help with any requirements, etc.) and how did that turn out? what kind of classes did you take?

see assist.org for courses that will transfer over to cal. it's a site geared towards california community college transfer so you will have to first select the community college you'd like to attend, then select berkeley as the institution you will be transferring the courses to.

i did all of my lower div. general ed/prereqs at a community college and most classes were def. easier than what i have taken at berkeley/heard about re: berkeley. its a good way to avoid the 100+ student lecture courses. make sure you double check the prof. ratings for community college courses.

thanks, luba, thats really helpful.

Thing I have to watch out for is that many major prereqs etc. dont allow you to take certain courses outside UC Berkeley to fulfill them. But breadth courses seem not to have that restriction.
