Anyone taking AP World History? Is it normal to have HOURS of hw each night?

That looks pretty similar to the type of HW my son had in AP Euro sophomore year. First they would do the Cornell outline, and then do more focused questions and a few paragraphs like this. Sometimes the outline would be 20 pages per chapter, so he could do other assignments from that. I think they did 1-2 chapters/wk.

" I never felt the need to outline or specifically memorize. That’s why I loved history in college and hated it in high school."

My experience exactly. This is partly why I think it’s silly to worry about kids who don’t know what they want to major in. First of all, there are tons of possible majors that kids have not even been exposed to in high schoool. But even for subjects they do study in HS, the approach is often compmletely different.

I really never had a really good history teacher before college. Turns out, I loved history enough to major in it.
