^ rjk, I was initially concerned about Coolbreeze’s writing skills. If he cannot count, then God help him.

It does favor another ranking system I reviewed before also. To sum it all up, I wouldn’t put a lot of emphasis in USNEWS World Ranking it needs to be revised.

W&M>>Michigan>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Iowa

Oh oh! Now swish is ****ed of too!

Just like UIowa isn’t as popular as UMichigan!
rimshot

For the record, I personally think very highly of Iowa… just not zealous overpromotion of Iowa.

^^^I had to get out my magnifying lense to read that font on the bottom. ;-)

ahahaha that was actally pretty funny

Wow…so rjkofnovi you’re picking on simple Iowa students to assert your Michigan superiority huh? Are you really that desperate? What morons.

^^^Are you insinuating that Iowa students are all simpletons? Are you really that insensitive?

USNEWS continues to be one of the greatest marketing tools of the 20th and 21st centuries. It really bases its rankings on prestige and reputation and is so outdated and outmoded as to be silly. And yes, I went to Yale, so I speak from having gone to one of the “best”.

But honestly, the best school is still the best school for you. I went to Yale and my husband went to a State school. We both ended up as Attorney VPs for AT&T. I now own my own company in the education field and he is still an attorney. But we both ended up in the same place.

Stop falling for the hype. Many schools pay for the ranking and rating in USN&WR. There is no true independent “rating” system. The closest we have is Bob Fiske. And even he is not scientific and unbiased.

There was an article yesterday reprinted in one of the Boston papers about the education you receive at the “prestige” schools versus the ones at “less” prestigious schools. Interesting read…

Lisa

The Globe>The Herald. ;-)

No,it is not. A common misconception on CC is that the Times/QS ranking, which happens to coincide with the USN&WR world ranking, is for grad school only, whereas, in reality, it is not.

As you can see in the description of the Times/QS ranking[methodology](http://www.topuniversities.com/university-rankings/world-university-rankings/methodology/simple-overview), the overall score includes measures such as student/faculty ratio or employer review that are more pertinent to undergraduate degrees than graduate school. It also uses academic peer review, which applies to both.

Best CC post I’ve read in a while. Could you by any chance remember which paper, or where the article is? It sounds interesting, but I can’t find it on google.

If by simpleton you mean simple folk who are interested in getting and education, then yes.
At least I’m not sensitive like you. Especially on UMichigan prestige and rankings. Psshht What a moron. Learn to deal with it. UMich is where it is. Stop trying to put it on a pedestal. The fact that you are even willing to so tells me its inferiority. And your insecurity.

^^^Unbelievable! You make ridiculous statements like the one above and you don’t expect people to react? You expect others to bow down to your Dookie greatness? If I went to Harvard and made that comment about Duke students, you wouldn’t take it personally? Pathetic snob. You should be embarrassed by remarks such as those you just made, but I know you are not. Simple folk indeed!

The student faculty ratio prolly includes grad students. The employer review also includes grad students.

He’s all about looking for a reaction…like claiming Harvard is going to be bombed on 9/11/2016 in the USNWR Rankings in 2050 thread…and then smiling about it.

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/1065448619-post19.html

^^^Gee, maybe I should contact the FBI?

Yeah? Anything wrong with that? As an MIT grad, I feel its necessary to so whatever I can within my power to bring down our rival down the street.
Its a joke, can you guys not take one? Geez, don’t be a buzz kill…

And rjkofnovi, you are a waste of my time.
How? What part of my response makes it one iota of ridiculousness? I don’t expect anything. What should I expect? And make what comment? About Harvard bombing? Can’t you seriously tell an MIT joke when you see it? And I don’t think I’ll take anything personally if you bash my university at my face. Go ahead. I’m fairly secure with where I got my degrees.
I really don’t understand you man…you really scare me. And its not only me, but apparently you have issues with so many other CCers you argue around with. Can’t you be reasonable and social?

Posting on an internet message board about bombing Harvard, joking about Berkeley undergrad with your MIT “friends” that it’s TTT, and griping that your little brother has decided to attend UCSB…

Glad the feeling is sorta mutual.
