Ehh, this is my first summer where I'm not going anywhere. Where is everyone else going? Or are people sitting at home like me? And if you are, do you have any big plans for next summer?

I'm actually pretty excited for the next two summers. Next summer I'm going to Russia for 2 months (as usual), but the big YAY moment will be summer 2009. TRIP TO EUROPE! Oh yes! I'm so excited!

Heh heh. I´m in Spain right now; arrived a week ago. ¡Mirad! Puedo escribir con acentos, aunque esta frase no tiene ningún--ah, no, ¡ahí están! Qué bueno. :) Estoy en un café internet ahorita, y éso explica los apóstrofos extraños. Me molestan, estos apóstrofos... ´´´´´´´´´´ ¡Bla!

Anyway. Yeah. I´m taking a whole year off before college, and I´ll be here in Spain until at least partway through September. I go home in late December. I also have friends in Wales and England and family in Norway... so I´m not completely sure where all I´ll spend my six months. :)

I'm going on a backpacking-canoeing-wilderness-outwardbound type thing through my college in august. it's in ontario, so that's as far as my traveling goes.

Anniushka, that post is really odd. I just thought I'd bring that out. It's OK, I didn't even notice the apostrophes until you mentioned something. And stop using Castilian Spanish because no one knows that in the US.

Anyway, I'm not going anywhere this summer, as I haven't gone anywhere since summer '02. I will be going to Spain next year though (Anniushka, give me a heads up as to what it's like).

For some reason, my school does a little bit of all types. For the most part, though, we just learn generic Spanish taught in American schools with a few outdated phrases like Que chevere! and Ay caramba! which would make an actual Spanish speaker's head explode. Anyway, some of that Castilian Spanish is very odd. I noticed your vosotros command and colloquialisms. No me molestan los apostrofos, pero una persona los usaba en Wikipedia y yo tenia que suprimirlos. No se usar acentos en CC.

Yeah, we learn all of these antiquated French expressions at my school, too. All of the French exchange students laugh at us, because we sound like 85-year-old women =)

Oh, and I'm going on French exchange this year! I'm so incredibly excited! This will be my first time out of the US...

I'm basically not going anywhere this summer and it sucks! Last summer I went to NYC for the first time...it was AWESOME! Just over this past spring break too I went to Europe on a school trip and it was the BEST experience of my life! So yea my summer is going to be pretty dismal compared to all that, but my school is offering a trip to South Africa next spring break...uhh sign me up!! :D

I was offered a trip to Costa Rica with a friend for a volunteer program, but it costs too much money. Then I was offered to go to Australia with a few other friends, but I had to decline again because, dang, tickets to Australia are expensive.

But I went to Hong Kong last year, so oh well.
