Anyone up for reviewing a statement of purpose?

I'm in the process of completing my application to graduate school.

Negatives are: my work experience (environmental compliance/environmental remediation) is only marginally related to the field of study (emergency planning), and my undergraduate studies were not at reputable schools (a community college followed by City University).

On the positive side, my undergraduate GPA was solid (3.9) and my GRE on Friday turned out pretty well for a 43 year old who's been out of school for awhile (82nd percentile quant, 96th verbal, analytical pending but I expect it to be closer to verbal).

So...the program is a bit of a stretch and probably hinges a bit on my statement of purpose. I've rewritten it once now and would like to get a fresh perspective or two. Anyone wanna volunteer? It's a page and a half, single spaced, as suggested by the admissions administrator.

Someone ended up PM’ing me a couple weeks ago and provided a very helpful critique. I now have what I hope is a final draft that I’d like to submit this week and would appreciate a proofread if anyone has the time.

Have you tried TheGradCafe.com? Folks pursuing similar programs probably have a better hold on what you should be looking for.

I think you’d be best off finding someone a bit more professional, really. I know we can’t post links here, so PM works for me.

Especially for first posts.
