<p>Depends on the monitor. If you have a computer you can buy a graphics card and run that cable into your computer and watch tv from your monitor. Which model did you buy?</p>
<p>You'll need a video card with a tv/cable tuner built in. If your PC was pre-packaged with Media Center Edition, you may have a tuner card already.</p>
<p>you could probably get a converter that the cable plugs into that turns in into whatever the monitor uses, though I'm not sure...</p>

I really like my tv shows, and I was thinking about getting an external monitor for the same reason.</p>
<p>It all depends on the particular monitor. Some have HDMI in, some don't. If yours does, then you will either need an HDMI cable/satellite connection (i.e. high definition) or you will need a converter (coaxial to HDMI).</p>
<p>If you don't have HDMI, then depending on what you have, it may or may not be possible.</p>

<p>There are two basic strategies for watching TV on your monitor: first, tuner card for your PC, signal to the monitor via VGA (or perhaps DVI) cable; second, TV signal directly to monitor via composite, HDMI, or 75 ohm cable.</p>
<p>The first option requires that your computer have a tuner; the second option requires that your monitor have a TV tuner (in which case, it would likely be marketed as a "TV with PC input") or that your cable set top box have an output suitable for your monitor (most likely composite, possibly hdmi).</p>

<p>I just bought an LCD TV and then bought the VGA cable so I could hook it to my laptop. I probably paid $50 more than a regular LCD monitor would have cost.</p>

<p>Let me start by saying I don't know much about computers....I have a monitor at home that you can watch tv with. Kinda like TVs, it has different inputs for different things. All I had to do was screw the cable into the place on the back. It came with everything to set it up.</p>
<p>It would be helpful if anybody could post up links to such tv tuner devices preferably either USB or express card.
Also, if anybody can find devices online (link please) that you can connect the cable to and would output S-Video, VGA, or HDMI, that would be very helpful.</p>
