Im curious if anyone has used www.collegedata.com free college chance calculator. Is it accurate? Cause it says I have a good chance at Darthmouth even though my sats are horrendous. Just curious tis all, kinda fun to see where i would have chances at.

Yeah it must be wrong...I am close to having a shot at dartmouth and Duke

yeah right

wth thats total bull crap.

i did it and it said i have good chances at harvard, yale, princeton, caltech, etc

lolol my chances at nyu and UT are the same

I thought it was ok as far as it went. E.g., it has nothing in it for how many AP courses were taken.

beprepn

I used that site, I don't understand how they can make calculations like that -- there's nothing on there about race or legacy or strength of essays and recs.

It's a joke.

Don't use collegedata. It doesn't get enough info about you (essay strenghth, awards, recs, etc.) I have a gpa over 4.00 and not great SAT scores and I couldn't find a school it listed as a reach. Not accuarate!

Well, you are supposed to use unweighted GPA.

For me, that's a problem, cause 25 of my 44 semester classes are honors based on the UC system anyway.

And, I have a low chance at a school that I have already been offered admission to...

Yeah, I used my unweighted GPA. I was just trying to show: high gpa + not so hot SAT = no reaches. The site is a joke.

your UW GPA probably is werid unless your a freak who got above a 95 the every class during your high school career im guessing that your school makes it so that all A-s, As and A+s count as a 4.0... the site wasnt designed for that system.
