<p>^A single rapidshare download doesn’t even use half of my 6Mbit down connection. Usually people download many files simultaneously though. A typical single download in my experience with a premium account is about 200KB/s. </p>
<p>The only reason people use rapidshare at all is because it is the most used. More people have rapidshare premium accounts, and more stuff is uploaded on RS servers. It’s a cycle.</p>

<p>I made a video for a friend once, and I put it there for him. I have never downloaded anything from it (like it has worked for me, anyway).</p>
