I don’t like the whole concept of “chancing” others. I, for one, am not sitting in the admissions office. But I will reluctantly throw in my 2 cents…I think your academics are on par with my D who was just accepted ED. I think you ECs are very diverse which seems to be an important factor at UR. I don’t know how the admissions mind set changes when considering RD versus ED but I think you have a much better than average chance at acceptance. Look at the UR website admissions page that profiles last years incoming freshman class and ask yourself how you fit in to that group. Sell yourself in your essay. You are more than a bunch of numbers. Your essay is your opportunity to set yourself apart from everyone else!

Thank you! I do not necessarily like the “idea” of chancing people either but I was rejected from my first choice and my counselor recommended this school for me. I was not sure what the academics were like at UR. Best of luck to your D!

i am applying to richmond also and i have something to say…
as an RD student your in the middle50% of the people that applied last year the SAT range being (1770-2020)
yes there were people that applied with 1900-ish SAT scores that were denied or deffered admission during the ED process. There was a kid at my school total genius who was denied with a 2300 SAT.
now we have “robnoco” who was admitted with a 1830 (oh CONGRATS ON GETTING ADMITTED) but there was something that spared an interests that UR wanted from “robnoco”
UR IS A TRUE “HOLISTIC ADMISSIONS COLLEGE” you can have the perfect gpa, sat, and recommendations and none of that will matter if you cant prove that you have matured and will continue to mature and grow within the 4+ years at UR
…
anyways i think you will have a 90% shot (that 10% missing is if the admissions team can see your personality shine/standout). I did an interview at UR and i had some of the same stats as you gpa(3.95), sat(2209), and about 10 ap courcess, with 500+ community service hours.
The admissions councilor said i had nothing to worrie about getting admitted so i think you will get in…JUST HAVE A PERSONALITY

my profile is just around your level.
i got a 19xx for SATs also. with 790 and 780 for SAT2 maths2 and chem
i got a few nationally recognized academic achievement
my ECs are not very diverse. I only joined 1 club during high school but got a few achievements there
my only problems are my low CR score, not very impressive essays and my huge need of finaid. plus, i’m an intl student so the competition would be even tougher.
