anyone want to help me with SAT?

ok...so..apparently
i have to take the SAT in Jan. to apply
to a science academy...(it's a specialty high school)
i'm a freshman rite now...and i have no clue about this test...
i just found out that i need to take the SAT to apply to this academy..
and i'm freaking out.
i've got 20 days to prepare for it.

i've never taken the new SAT
but i did take the old one last year for CTY.
i received 1110 (670 M/ 440 V)

i need at least 600 on verbal and 500 on writing in order to get accepted into academy...math is pretty easy for me..and i don't worry about it..
but i'm dreading the verbal and writing part..

since i'm a fresh, i've never really thought about SAT
and have NO CLUE on how to prepare...

anyone want to help me out?

how should i prepare for the verbal/writing section of the SAT?

wat's the best way to really raise up your score in 20 days?

i seriously need some help here...

( i don't expect a really high score since i'm taking it for the academy,
not for college...i just want to meet the min. requirement for the academy this time...i'll deal with the high scores when i actually get into my soph. and junior year...once again my expectation is not that high. just want 600 V and 500 W. PLEASE HELP ME)

any piece of advice/info will be helpful...

THANX A LOT!! =]

Get the official study guide, the “Blue Book”. Start doing the practice tests. Spend most of the practice on reading and writing since you seem to good ant math. See why you are getting stuff wrong. Cram about 250 SAT words. Try this list: http://www.sparknotes.com/testprep/books/newsat/chapter15section4.rhtml

600 in CR is not that difficult but since you're a freshman you probably would need to take a course either by PR or Kaplan and in addition to that use Grammatix and Collegeboard's Book(Necessity).
