Anyone well versed in alternate routes to Certification in PA?

To make a long story short my son is a middle level math major in his third year, and is going to be transferring to an online school to complete a General Studies BS. He does still want to pursue teaching in the long term, and looking into the best options for that and it is so overwhelming. If you have any experience, particularly in the state of PA, I would love to hear!

@tumagmom My daughter has just completed the ABCTE program through Point Park University to get her PA teaching certification. (She did special education). See the link below. I don’t think they have a middle level program but they do have a secondary math program.

I wonder what certification option you have found for yourself? I have acquaintances who have taken advantage of the Pennsylvania Trainee Teacher Certification Program, which allows individuals to teach while completing required coursework. Programs such as American Board also offer online certification pathways. There is also the option of post-baccalaureate teacher certification programs at universities that allow online courses combined with field experience. The main thing is to familiarize yourself with the specific state certification standards before choosing an option.
