<p>Do you think colleges evaluate the IIC more than the SAT I Math? It just seems that the SATI doesn't test any real math skills compred to that of the IIC.</p>
<p>i took both Math I and IIC pratice tests and did better on the Math IIC. So i took the Math IIC and got perfect score on it. </p>

<p>OP was talking about SAT II vs SAT I, not IIC vs IC. Personally I don't think colleges will disregard the SAT I math in favor of a good SAT II math score, but of course any high score helps. (BTW, I did WAY better on the IIC than on the SAT I math.)</p>
<p>I did better on the Math 2C. I got an 800 and i agree with the OP I do think its true that the 2C tests actual academic skills way moreso than the SAT I math. The math on the SAT I is at times not even math you are supposed to learn. Like those questions that say "If most of the kids in Mr. Reed's class are boys which of the following statements must be true?" Questions like that try and test reasoning skills and not necessarily math skills.</p>

<p>yea, i also did better on the 2C, proobably because getting one wrong on the 2C is not as devastating to your score as gettin one wrong is on the SAT 1 Math.</p>
<p>I don't think the difference in scoring between the SAT I math and the IIC can explain a 150+ point difference.</p>
<p>Although SAT I Math isn't representative of the applicant's mathematical knowledge, SAT II MathIIC only represents the mathematical knowledge until 10th/11th grade. What about multivariable calculus? In reality both tests don't really test any substantial math skills and thus we have to settle with SAT I Math, which levels the playing field for everyone so that their scores can be compared, and SAT II MathIIC for those people who are "strong at math."</p>
