Hi, I’m senior in high school who’s ready for the first year of the college.
Since I was very unsatisfied with my college selection and decisions due to
my low GPA, SAT scores, and little extracurricular activities, I would like to
try once again with trasferring in sophomore year.(I’m gonna apply in my freshman year)

My high school GPA is about 3.6/4.0
SAT score is about mid-1900.

If there’s anyone who got accepted by Amherst, I would like to ask you for sharing ur
stories or your scores, GPA, etc. I just wanna get info about how you did so that
I can get some sense of applying as transfer. I’d like to major psy.

^^^This was for fr admissions, you need to recognize 2 things about transfer admissions:

First, when you apply for a soph transfer, you will have only completed 1 full sem/qt of college, so your HS record (gpa & course rigor) and test scores will be weighted more than what you’ve done in college.

Second, while their fr admission rate is low, the acceptance rate for transfers is substantially lower, about 5.5% for Fall 2010 transfers:

Accepted and absolutely going with a 4.3 weighted (3.6 unweighted) and 2320 SAT.

5’s on the AP Chemistry, AB and BC Calculus, and US and Euro history exams. National Merit Finalist. I went through a serious illness during high school (significantly lowered my GPA).

White, upper-middle class kid from one of the best public high schools in California. I have no idea why I was accepted in place of other borderline applicants.

Hi! I got in, and I’m an international(Romanian) with a 10/10 gpa(science focused curriculum, public high school) and 2340 SATs, 800 French and Spanish, 610 Maths II and some ECs: 1st prize National Psychology Olympiad, 3rd prize National Debate Competition, member of the European Youth Parliament, handball and basketball player- club and varsity, some computer science activities-college course, Regional Olympiad, VP student government, volunteering - Save the Children, ecology and habitat for humanity, 2nd prize regional Geography Olympiad, essay competitions … Thinking about majoring in Psychology too!
