Hi. I really have a strong desire to get into medical school and be a doctor. My top 3 schools currently are Marquette U, Miami U (ohio), and Creighton U. I was wondering if these schools would be able to prepare me well for medical school admission and if they have good research opportunities (I hear that is good for med school acceptance). anyone who has any information please let me know! thank you!

Marquette's strength is in the humanities..The jesuits literally raped and bankrupt the medical school abut 30 years ago. The med school became independent of Marquette and was renamed Medical College Of Wisconsin, which now is a solid med school, felt to be in the up and up. I have a feeling Marquette may not be very good for premed...

Miami of Ohio and Creighton are better choices, the latter one research wise..

Miami has a direct admit program for freshmen, with guaranteed admission to Univ. of Cincinnati med school. They have a beautiful campus. We also toured Marquette because my son was interested in their physician assistant program. They claim their program is harder to get into than med school. The campus was not very nice.

Marquette is not known for its premed. I live in Milwaukee, and trust me, its prestige is not found there. Actually, it's really not that prestigious in anything. This is not an attack against Marquette, I just would really re-think about applying there with the intention of studying premed. Although, its dental school is one of the more renowned in the midwest, I think.
