I'm looking to apply for the design/visual communicatons program at Lehigh

Thank you in advance =] I greatly appreciate your opinion!

this looks pretty good! I'm guessing that GPA is weighted? I would just say try to raise that ACT score, maybe even above a 30 if you can, since Lehigh was extremely competitive this year and will probably continue in this trend.

yeah i think you have a good shot. Do ED if its your no. 1 choice. Also show tons of interest, like personally meet/ express your interest to your admissions rep.

SpiceGirl, Looks good, but a few things jump out at me and perhaps will jump out at admissions? First, "highest avg. in English Award" w/no AP English course? lang or lit? Appying to design/visual communications? On the basis of experience w/School newspaper I'm guessing. Any other ec's, clubs, work to include there? Note you are editor-chief and layout editor- not simultaneously right? So, one year each? If you have additional ec, etc. in communications/design probably would be supportive of your app.
Good luck.

thanks to everyone who has already responded =] keep it coming please! =]

and to answer some of DuelingApps comments:
I took honors english until sophomore year until I had a scheduling conflict because I had to take AP Calc and skipped a year in Latin... I'll make sure to include that in my application. With the visual communications aspect, I was layout editor my junior year. For next year, I have been already named the Editor-in -Chief. I'm also interning at a magazine this summer so I hope that can help as well. Also, I wrote some articles for my local newspaper. Thank you, DuelingApps, for your specific comments... I found them very helpful!!! =]

Sounds good spicegirl, perhaps one of your recs could be from the student newspaper advisor & could reference your talent and interest in the field. Also don't forget to include any work you may have done in creating materials for student elections, publicizing events etc. Maybe you created some great flyers, posters, brochures. See if there is any event coming up locally that you can produce some materials for - then include samples in your app packet. Here is a thought that was used at another school by friend - took photos of campus on visit - then superimposed self - then created a poster like Where's Waldo & send to admissions with a marker so they could see if they could find him on their campus. So where at Lehigh is spicegirl? Looked cool. good luck to you!
