Anyone with average SAT scores apply?

It seems like everyone that applied have SATs of 2100 or above? The scores on here I like HYP scores? Why are you applying to UCSD??? Anyone with average scores apply?

umm Yes Average scores apply. as well as people with lower than average scores.
Average SAT score is about 1940 or so.
1780 person gets in and 2100 person gets in. Averages to 1940

people on CC are typically just on crack. Plenty of people get into UCSD, especially in-state, with considerably lower than a 2100.

A UCSD rep came to my school in October, and she said the average SAT score last year was 1950- so don't get too discouraged.

my sat 2000... not feeling very confident cuz my gpa is low

i had a 1960 sat score when i applied to the ucs last year n got in miraculously.

how low?
I'm a little worried too
my SAT is 2040 but my UC GPA is around 3.95ish

^ I wouldn't be too worried, especially if you've done extracurriculars/community service that will get you more points

my uc gpa is 3.7 T_T

800/720 sat2s (maybe that will help balance out my low gpa i hope?)
oh well im not gonna lose hope

i have a 1940 sat score and below the average GPA.

i hope i get in.

i have an 1870 but much better SAT II scores.. and a 4.0uw and like 4.2uc

LOW SAT SCORES but somewhere between a 4.0-4.2 UC GPA, I'm from out of state and UC GPA would be in 4.3.4.5 RANGE, BUT I HAD TO DROP MY AP'S LAST YEAR FOR PERSONAL REASONS(DIAGNOSED WITH CANCER). HAVE LOTS OF E/Cs and am STILL VERY ACTIVE. I AM ACTUALLY SHAVING MY HEAD ON FIRDAY AND GIVING A HUGE SPEECH AT A LOCAL HIGH SCHOOL FOR ST. BALDRICK'S DAY AND THEN I HAVE WALK A-THONS NEXT SATURDAY(10AM-1PM, and 6PM-9AM) AND A FASHION SHOW FOR THE HURRICAN KATRINA FUND THIS WEEKEND. I WISH UCLA AND UCSD WOULD SEE ALL THESE EC's, but they don't see my EC's for this year, :(.

they know u got cancer?

if they read my strong and deep essay, they should, :(. and i put down the code for like illness and something else on the application. i called them a few times and told them and also had my oncologist send a nice letter with my whole procedure and like how many rounds and cycles of chemotherapy and radiation i had.

I still doubt I'm getting in since I'm OOS, but who knows.

My essays talks about what I learned and how I am helping society with my club that I am in the process of transforming into a foundation.

What are my chances?

3.85 GPA
4.1 HPA

LOW SATs

I have like no extracurriculars, but my SATz is 2100 but my GPA is only 3.9 w

ugh...i really hope i get in :(

I got into UCSD and UCLA with a 3.4 UC GPA--guess how high my SAT scores had to be -____-

As long as your grade point average and standardized test scores as least somewhat complement each other, you have nothing else to worry about.

2290 ?

does being out-of-state reduce your chances? i've heard they go mainly on stats, is that correct?

sat-2190
gpa- not sure what my UC gpa is but my non-uc (lol) gpa is 3.96 uw

they go by a point system, giving a weighted amount of points to your gpa, sat, and all your ec. being out of state you don't get 300 points for being a resident of california.

then they accept all students above a certian amount of points

search previous threads for the actual division and weighting of points

you're stats are above average for sd tho, so as long as you have good leadership, community service and other ecs, you should be in

ok thanks :) i don't think i have good leadership, but ok community service and ec. nothing major though, to help my chances. i'll go check out the past threads.
