anyone with considerable knowledge about transfers, chance me?

I'm currently at Michigan State and after trying things for a semester I realized I'm somewhat unhappy here. I have the feeling that I was meant to go somewhere else and would like a change in environment socially and academically. The current semester is over in about 2 weeks the majority of my credits are basically a 4.0 and I only have a final left in a 3 credit Econ course which I currently have a 3.5 so let's pretend I do bad on the final for modesty although I may end up doing well in reality. I'm going to have at worst a 3.8-3.9 GPA in a 17 credit schedule, my high school stats were 29 ACT, 2050 SAT, and 3.77 GPA(6 AP's Total, semi-tough schedule), solid EC's. I'm majoring in accounting right now, but I'm considering economics and finance/international business as well.

Looking to transfer to either UIUC(Illinois), USC(Southern Cal not to be confused with SCarolina), UMich, or UNC, possibly Northwestern although I consider some of these schools to be very large reaches what are my chances realistically?

i dont think that any of those schools are unrealistic at all, especially if you wait to apply for spring '10 rather than fall '09 so that they have two semester worth of great grades to look at

as it stands some of those schools would perhaps be high matches, just based off of your stats...your ec's/essays/prof recs are what likely will determine whether or not your accepted to those schools

Thanks dufflebagjesus, I respect your opinion after reading through some of your posts, I'll keep up the grades and I'll give it a try for Fall 09' but if things don't work out I'll apply Spring '10 as well

remember

most schools will not let you apply for consecutive semesters..i think to be a competitive applicant you should hold off another semester, just my opinion

you look like you have a very solid chance. good luck!
