I was thinking about bringing my desktop PC to college with me along with my laptop because I wanted to do some gaming while I was there. I never really heard of people bringing them since everyone seems to go for a laptop but if anyone here has done so or knows what its like then please let me know. I don't really think it will be that bad at all to be honest but I may be wrong.

Depends how noisy it is and how much heat it puts out and whether your dorm has WiFi or wired. The last is not really a big issue with a PCI card but noise and heat may be issues.

I have a pretty advanced desktop and the think is quiet and icecold. My issue is having enough deskspace for my 27 inch monitor keyboard and mouse.

You’re probably best off asking your university’s housing department asking for the dimensions of the desk. The desktop is doable, but having room for the monitor is the biggest issue and we can’t really say without knowing more.

Actual system on the floor, LCD monitor, keyboard, mouse = computing bliss in the dorm :)
