Sorry to hear about the decision, but I think I’m destined for the same. And thanks for the info!

It’s odd why some hotmail users would get their decisions and other wouldn’t. Any thoughts to why?

Service providers have filters that regulate what volume of mail can be sent from one source at any given time.

Its not over till its over, have faith in yourself. Im going to stanford anyway so I wasnt really depressed. I guess Harvard wasn’t for me. :)

Thanks for the support. I did however get rejected to JHU and Yale. So I’m hoping for Harvard. Either way, I’m an international student and got accepted to amazing schools in my country.

Also, back to the hotmail stuff, I read of an AOL user and a school e-mail user not receiving their admission decision.

mifune, are you saying that if Harvard sends say 5000 e-mails to hotmail users, hotmail may just put 2000 through and then delete the rest? Or are the rest sent at a later time?

I got my rejection in the junk folder too. International, if that matters.

Well, if it helps my last name does start with an A

Mine starts with F, but they may not do it by alphabetical order. They may send out all the same-type decisions together? Or they may do it by location of the applicant?

A hotmail user here,Still NOT getting any emails from harvard …tho i’m pretty sure it’s rejection…

I am a hotmail user and I got my acceptance into my inbox exactly at 5:01 PM EST.

I use Hotmail and I got waitlisted.

so if any of us are going to wait for the letter what does an acceptance letter look like. is it a big package or is it like a thin envelope?

I guess us hotmail users who didn’t receive it yet got rejected. The accepted emails were able to get through, but the mass bulk rest of the emails (92% being rejection) probably crashed the servers or were rejected. Great way to find a decision …

I have hotmail, and I never got an official acceptance letter. HOWEVER…my interviewer called me this morning to congratulate me on my acceptance this morning, and I checked my email and I received an email from the Financial Aid Office congratulating my acceptance and saying that I will receive info in my admit package which will come within the next few days.

I’m utterly surprised, as I assumed my rejection from Princeton and Yale meant the same thing from Harvard…

I’m so happy for you Cahier26! That would be such a pleasant surprise.

Thank you! I wish you all the best of luck…there are so many amazing applicants on this forum, so I’m holding out for you guys!

I’m a hotmail user and got my acceptance right on time :)

I use hotmail, and I never got an e-mail either…

So I just called Harvard… which really was nerve-wrecking… and the Office person just asked me for my name and a couple of my test scores to confirm who I am… and told me that I got accepted!!!

The number is: 617-495-1551, btw, for those of you who need it.

So… I think we can put aside the “no e-mail=reject” conspiration theory…

Now I’m REALLY torn… Haaarvard or Yale? :)

Is Harvard still mailing out decisions today? Would they arrive in Massachusetts homes this morning?

Good luck!!!

I called them this morning and all i got was an automated message… I thought I would be able to get my decision…
