Looks like most of the CCers here have loads of ECs. Just curious whether there are any here with simple ECs (like stamp-collecting, just giving an example :o) or few ECs

I don't have many ECs, but the ones I have are things that are important to me and that I put a lot of time into.

Quality, not quantity. But if stamp-collecting is the only thing on the list, be worried.

Same as cbr27. I think you can say I only have two "real" ECs, maybe 3, but I spend hours upon hours on them every week.

I have loads of crappy ECs, but decided not to put it on my applications!

I have very few ECs in terms of during the school year, though some I've done consistently. But over the summers I've done a bit more. But unlike most CCers and most other ppl applying to top schools, I have simple and few ECs -- definitely will be my greatest drawback (as well as my lack of awards). I wish I had done more over the years, but I needed time to recover from all the schoolwork. Few ECs shouldn't deter you from applying to a dream school. As long as you did some and have a good explanation why you did (not just to get into college) then you should be fine.

I am in a pre-professional ballet program that requires me to attend for anywhere between 3-7 hours 6 or 7 days a week. Therefore, between that and school, I don't have much time left for other stuff ;) I still manage to squeeze in Conversational Hebrew and volunteering a local underprivileged elementary school once a week, but basically ballet and school take up all my time. My summer activities, activities within school, etc. are also all ballet related.
