Anyone work at kumon before?

how is it? what is the pay like?

I just sent in my resume...hopefully i get a call back

Its easy, easy pay, easy everything...

That's basically what my cousin said. I don't think the pay was great, but he said the job was realllly easy. He worked there for ~2 years.

So many people at my school work for kumon. I used to go there in elementary school, but the owners were horrible

OMFG bad memories are appearing in my mind. I went there for like 3 years. I used take the answer booklet from the kitchen shelf to answer the questions for the homework lol.

Ahhhh kumon. I would think the work would be super easy. I loved kumon, the owners were kickass and would give everyone christmas presents when the time came. I quit a while ago. I was thinking of bringing them some cupcakes..

What's Kumon?

^
*** ?

Kumon is a tutoring company that uses special techniques to help you in Math and English.

They have homework and stuff that you have to complete. This makes you better at those subjects.

And they have prizes and special "levels" and stuff for you.

Thank you very much, this is all that I have needed. I will remember you in the future for donation of cookies.

Invoyable, I hysterically LOLed when I read you're post for a good 2 minutes.

Pssh you edited it ::cry::

I just got an email back saying she would call back within a week..

anyone know what the interview process is like? wat questions they ask, any placement tests, etc.

I went there for 5 years as a kid and work there now and have been for two years.

Anyway, my pay is great. I make good money (tax free), the hours are great (2-4 days a week for three hours.) My boss is great and took everyone out to eat for Christmas. The only problem is it is the easiest job ever and gets really boring! My boss lets me take work off for school tests/random conflicts, so it ends up being a really great deal.

I never got interviewed for the job since I was a former student, but I know people who have interviewed at other centers. Another kid I know interviewed at another center and took a placement test, but didn't do good enough to get the job. He is a pretty smart kid, but I guess the other kids competing for the job did better.

If you work there, check advanced math. It will make you a lot better at math and you can learn math techniques that are really cool and unique in the harder levels (J and beyond). And they give you a solution book so you can always pretend to be smart.

Good Luck!

great answer..thanks :)

lol @ sAxsKy. I remember doing the same thing. I'd take a "peek" at the answer booklet when things just got a little too frustrating.

I'm interested in working Kumon in the near future. I heard that you have to take a couple diagnostic tests in order to get a position. To those of you who have taken it before, what were they like? Were they easy, just stuff taught in school, or were they hard?

Invoyable what did you post, don't let a few homotional nerds ruin the lulz :(

ROFL HOMOTIONAL. I haven't seen that in a while... ;)

That was a good week and a 1/2 ago, and so many posts I don't exactly remember but it was something like... Ku*mon* which strangely reminded me of digimon so I put some sort of relationship to aguamon and the OP working in some sort of digimon facility and on drugs or something. With some added effects and a couple other phrases like "...DI-DI-DIGIEVOLUTION Arkadimon!" or some other sort of sardonic phrasing. Can't exactly remember...also pokemon might've been in there somehow...the awesomeness of pikachu.

I was pretty tired and apparently also pretty sarcastic and offensive cuz from what I remember some people got on me like hordes of zealots on methamphetamine.

My apologies to people associated with Kumon...I had no idea...
