anyone yet for wellesley?
Not yet…they just sent out Davis Degree Program decisions on Tuesday. Did you apply this year?
yeepp. Actually I have been calling since monday and they said to me it was going to be sent out tomorrow (the 7th), when I called on the 7th they said the 8th, when I called on the 8th they said the 9th, when I called today they said they are going to be sent out today… so HOOOPEFULLY TODAY! These next two days are going to be the worst days of my life =P, jokes… but I am going to hate the USPS if I dont get it on saturday.
I have a feeling of rejection… but we will see. I do not even know what type of candidate I am supposed to be for the davis program. It is SOOO vague.
Oh, no! I thought they sent them out on Tuesday. You mean I have to wait even longer? I was sure I’d get the decision by Saturday at the latest.
I have a bad feeling, too. I know what you mean about the vagueness–I have no idea what the standards are for Davis candidates. I wonder how many women apply each year?
Anyway–good luck! I feel your pain with the waiting. It is agonizing! If I’m going to be rejected, I want to get it over with!
hey guys CHECK YOUR EMAIL!!! I GOT IN!!! THEY ARE SENDING EMAILS!!!
It is a pleasure to send you this email regarding our admission decision
on your application to Elisabeth Kaiser Davis Degree Program. Although a
letter en route serves as your official decision from the College, I am
happy to inform you here that you have been admitted to Wellesley.
Congratulations! We know that you will bring many outstanding qualities to
the Wellesley community and we hope you decide to enroll.
Your admission letter was mailed today and should arrive soon. In the
meantime, I have attached a copy of the invitation you will be receiving
in your admission packet to our Spring Open Campus program for all
admitted students on Wednesday, April 22. Please note that this campus
wide event is for both admitted Davis Scholars and admitted high school
seniors. We hope you will be able to join us for it. If you wish to
attend, please call or email Veronica Ward by April 17 at 781-283-2282 or
[ mailto:<a href=“mailto:vward@wellesley.edu”>vward@wellesley.edu</a> ]<a href=“mailto:vward@wellesley.edu”>vward@wellesley.edu</a>,
Once again congratulations on your acceptance. I look forward to hearing
from you if you have any questions.
Sincerely,

OMG, I GOT IN TOO!!!
I checked my e-mail right after I left the CC boards and I freaked out. I totally forgot that they were also notifying by e-mail. What an amazing, wonderful surprise.
CONGRATULATIONS! I don’t know yet if I’ll be able to attend–the financial aid offer will be the true deciding factor. I’m also in love with Agnes Scott–it’s currently tied with Wellesley for #1. So I guess I’ll just have to see who gives me the best aid.
Maybe we’ll be classmates this fall! Congratulations again!
you too!!! i am also waiting for fin aid. i cannot attend th 22nd because of midterms… too bad!! i wouldve loooooved to feel the school. I hope u go! i love it… our cool life stories worked for us!!
I was accepted too! Hooray! Congratulations to everyone else that was accepted! Out of those that have been accepted- are any of you planning to commute to Wellesley? If so, from where? I’m located in Providence, RI and will most likely commute.
i have to find a place to live there. i am in cali. i am flying up 5/1 to 5/3 to take a look around.
If a room is available, I will be living on campus.
I’m blown away by how generous WC’s financial aid is; the fact that they extend that generosity to non-traditional students is even more remarkable. I’ve found so many colleges that don’t offer very good financial aid to older or transfer students.
This doesn’t feel real yet!
ikno. i just got the package today. 31K!!
Hi JGee and Peregina…
Since WC is so vague about admission criteria, as you point out… any chance either of you would mind vaguely sharing your background, academic and otherwise, that paved the way for your recent acceptance?
I have been looking at the Davis Program, but am not really sure what to think, if it is even realistic, etc, etc,
BTW. Congrats.
My gpa is a little confusing. in my first year of college I got a D, but I retook the course and got an A. Since then only As and maybe 2 or 3 Bs. With the D included I could have a 3.5 gpa, if the D was replaced with the A I could have a 3.89 I think… so it depends how wellesley sees it but I think it matters that I showed that the D was a major fluke. Out of 1600 on the SATs I got 1330, 1410, and outta 2400, i got a 2290. I think all the scores were sent tho, I am not sure, I didnt pick and choose. I come from Community college and am an english poli sci major. I do know for sure I think recs and essays mean more than anything. I would say go for it if you have a 3.3 or above.
O, also, my recs are really good. I had lots of leadership positions my year at CC, and I was in the honors program too.
Let me kno!!!
Hi JGee
Apologies for my late reply… somehow I overlooked your response in my inbox and thought you didn’t answer…
Thank you for your reply to my. It is much appreciated!
Did you apply to the Davis Program specifically or as a traditional transfer student?
How many credits are you transferring in?
I am older, in my 30s plus, with lots of credits from a university that I eventually ended dropping out of for family reasons… I am going to call the Davis Program next week and talk to them.
Thanks!!
