Anyone?

What's the average GPA of American students that apply here?

not sure what the GPA of a typical US applicant is, since I'm Canadian, but I'll try to help you out a bit. It depends on the faculty. For Arts, the typical Canadian student has an 84% average at least. The mean entrance average at Queen's is 89%.

My average was about a 86% when I got accepted there March 10th. I was applying to Arts History.

I'm not too familiar with that grading scale. I have a 3.2 GPA and a 92 cumulitive average so far...

I go to a very difficult Catholic school, and the grading scale is as follows:

93-100=A
85-92=B

What would you translate this to as my percentile; I'm lost about the Canadian way.

"By the way I wan't to major in finance at the Queens School of Commerce"

Thank you guys so much

i think your GPA/average is the cutoff or slightly above for commerce. i gotta tell you that the program is hard to get into. maybe call and ask them?

I got into life sciences with a 3.94 / 4.5 gpa, 2270 SAT
Commerce is their most competitive faculty, i think

Yea, I believe so. Good luck though. :)

to be honest no one knows such school exist.

admission for Queen's: average GPA 3.0 (from PrincetonReview)
SAT cutoff V580 M520 (old SAT, from Queen's viewbook) for new SAT check their website

seriously Queen's is one of Canada's ****tiest school, try McGill UofT or UBC

stop making up things, Queen's is not competitive at all

This IIId person is a complete idiot, if not an outright troll, and does not know anything that he speaks of. Queens university is one of the top universities in Canada when using acceptance grades, prestige, difficulty of programs, job placement and so on.

you need to cite data man Queen's acceptance is 42% (go check it online at PrincetonReview) not very hard to get into

for prestige, why not google ShangHai Jaotong U Ranking and Newsweek rankings yourself? Queen's isnt even the top 100

hmm actually nvm that queen's is actually one of the canada's best but again even canada's best cant be compared with USs 2nd tier schools

LOL

Yes, cite your "data", like the Gourman report that was commissioned in 1998 and placed York at number 6. A pillar of believability, that!

It is absolutely clear you know nothing about Queens, Canada, or Canadian universities. You have no idea how or what these stats signify or how they are compiled in order to be churned out for people like you. You're a parrot is what you are, that recites "stats".

But then again, I certainly do not want to change your mind on this as we are in no need to flood the school with barely literate internationals. U of T is best for you or better yet, the US. Good luck!!!

If we're on the topic of data from Princeton Review (which should never be taken seriously in the first place), let's look at the acceptance rates of other schools:
McGill: 57%
U ofT: 67%
UBC: 58%
Queen's has the lowest acceptance rate of all Canadian universities. In fact, my friend's dad who went to Queen's for undergrad is now a brain surgeon, and my other friend's mom who went there is a dermatologist. murgo is right in saying that Queen's is one of Canada's top universities.
I liked Queen's, and I would've gone there were it not for the fact that I live too far from Kingston.

the most recent one McGill has 47% acceptance, 57 was the year before(for this you can easily go varify at school's website or wikipedia). I think Queen's is truely top in Canada, with only about 50 Rhodes Scholars, no Nobel Prize Winner, ranking lower than 100 in many international rankings. You really should decide this based on the facts not some made up lies.

i dont know man Queen's is probably one of the top in canada nvm

hahaha. llld, you make me laugh.
