My D checked her Bluehenhome status over the weekend and it changed from "Under review" or something along those lines to "OFFICIAL NOTIFICATION VIA MAIL". Does this possibly mean her fate is decided and will send out the decision in March? Anyone elses status change?

My son’s page changed to the same this morning. Strange. I thought no decisions were being made till mid-March. UD sent out a letter early Fall that said so, plus they always request mid-year grades, which don’t come out for most schools for another 1 or 2 weeks. I hope it’s just a software glitch, decision this early is probably not good.

my son’s status change to that as well today. We are in PA. He has already been accepted to Pitt, and rejected at Penn State-Up. Those two and Delaware are his top three schools.

Mine changed also, does Delaware usually ask for midyear grades? Uconn for me did not ask, but Pitt did.

I’m sure the decisions won’t be going out now and I’m that they are sticking to the March mail notices. However, this could mean their fates are decided for the good or bad and they are going through their apps and deciding now with all the volume they receive. Mothertobe, my D got into Penn State UP and a few other decent schools so who’s to even guess if a decision at this time is good or bad.

Yes, my D’s status changed as well today. I know that in-state devcisions are rolling and I see from their twitter page that those have begun to go out. I just can’t believe that this means they have been mailed. I have posted the question on UD Admissions so hopefully they will respond. Would be nice if it is good news so early, but I am not holding my breath nor telling my D of the status change. She never checks the website.

I am also going with the fact that this is a software glitch. It wouldn’t be the first. My D ran into a similar issue with another school she applied to. They accidently gave everyone access to a secure area of their website for acceptanced students only. Many people were able to gain access so we all thought that meant an acceptance. The only problem was, decisions hadn’t been made yet. Many people wrote on the admission dept blog how upset they were so they finally fixed it. I am guessing this is something similar since in state decisions are rolling.

As if the waiting game wasn’t bad enough. Add these glitches into the mix and tensions rise.

dogsrthebest (and dogs certainly are) please post if you hear for them. My D was so excited of the change after looking at the same thing for months. March seems like an eternity for her at this point

I will absolutely post if I hear something back. It looks like they only tweet once a day from the admissions office so I doubt I will hear anything today. The waiting is brutal. UDel is my D’s top choice which is why I think she stays off the My Blue Hen site. It is too painful to keep checking and see nothing new or something posted incorrectly. In her world, out of site out of mind works best.

I also went back and looked at last year’s posts on this site to see if there were any early OOS decisions and I couldn’t find anything from anyone that heard prior to mid-March. Sorry to burst everyone’s bubble but I think we are in for 6-7 week wait time for the OOS decisions to begin rolling out.

Just curious. Did you guys click into the admitted students site? That’s how my OOS daughter found out last year. However, she didn’t find out until the week before the decision came in the mail in March.

FWIW, I’m voting for either a glitch or perhaps the OOS students are in the on-deck circle now.

May I wish you all good luck? My D is incredibly happy at UD.

My son’s status also changed. We are OOS too, Pennsylvania. He has already been accepted at Penn State main campus, Rutgers (merit scholarship) and Drexel (merit scholarship). My feeling is, that if a decision is made this early, then it is probably favorable. I would think that borderline or “iffy” applications would be saved until late in the process and then ranked to see who among them should fill the final slots. Having said that, I agree with most of the posters that it was probably a software glitch that generated the change in decision status.

If they changed this on everyone’s page on purpose they worded it terribly. Way to get our hopes up! haha can’t wait until mid-March!

Zoosermom: Where is that admitted student section on the website?

I’m OOS and my status changed to that today too. This makes me really anxious! =

OMG…so many of the wise and sage parents from so many other threads (son applied to lots of schools…long story) Gosh, I’ve seen lots of glitches this year! DogsR and I were forming conspiracy theories on the Wisconsin thread months ago (good times, but I think my S was the only CC kid flat out rejected…as well he should have been) and Motherto5 have been chatting on the Penn State site (anyone else waiting for Syracuse & Maryland?) Three years ago when my D applied CC was 80% kids, now it’s all of us kindred parents! ANyway…I’m a sucker for these potential loopholes! My son, who UD is a reach school (and from NJ) has this same message. THAT SAID, University Miami Ohio has traditionally been VERY late with their EA decisions compared to their competition (usually mid February) and they pretty much bucked it up mid game and released decisions mid December to (I assume) remain competitive in these days of reduced patience and immediate gratification! So, who knows? Anyone check last year’s thread?

Yes, as I posted earlier I checked last years thread and no one posted any acceptances prior to the first week in March so I highly doubt that this means anything. The fact that so many people are seeing the same message leads me to believe this is nothing more than a glitch. Yes, imanicollegehelp, we did support each other thru the craziness of the UWisc site. We are still waiting to hear from that one as well as Syracuse. I know this will be a mid March deal. I will admit this morning I did get my hopes up when I saw the change on the MyBlueHen site but the more we blog the more I realize it is once again a simple computer mess up.

UDel is also VERY clear on their website and on the FAQ’s that OOS decisions go out mid March.

I just wanted to say good luck to all of your sons and daughters and also to my fellow applicants! UD is a great school, and I would be very happy if I ended up there next year! Hopefully March will come quickly!

This is what I suggest. As a parent I would never do this for my D but as the student you can chat online with an admission rep between the hours of 8:30-5 daily. The chat button is on the Admissions site and they actually say in the FAQ’s that they welcome questions via chat rather than calling or emailing. My D doesn’t even know about this “glitch” so maybe one of the students on this page would be willing to chat tomorrow and let us know what they say. It is a simple question that I am sure they would be willing to clear up.
