Anything I can do?

I am currently going into my sophomore year of high school, and so far my grades have been pretty good. I was between an A and B average in most subjects, with 1 C in an Honors World History Class. Freshman year I took:
Honors Enlgish, A Final Grade
Honors World History, B Final Grade.
College Prep Geometry, A Final Grade
College Prep Intro to Physics, A Final Grade
and French I, A Final Grade.
I also took chorus with a final grade of an A.

Going into sophomore year I am planning on taking:
Honors English (American Lit)
Honors American History
Honors Algebra II
Honors Biology
French II
and a computer class called Global Issues and Technology

Eventually (junior or senior year) I want to take a creative writing class. Unfortunately because my school is so small, and we are getting NO funding this year, they are cutting a lot of electives, and we didn't have many to start.

Freshman year I was also ranked either 8th or 10th in my class of about 180 students. I was also a participant in the Drama Club and was a Represetative in my school's Student Government.
I won academic awards in Intro to Physics, French, and also won a school-wide avid reader acknowledgment given out by the English department to one student every year.
I have also been a student at a private Performing Arts school for almost 8 years.

In addition, I have recenty contacted the editor of my town's newspaper to see if any internships are currently available.

I am planning on an English and Literature Major at Emerson, also considering Journalism.
My question is, what else can I do that will help me get accepted to Emerson? Are their any specific classes I should take, or other steps to achieving this goal? Please let me know.

You know, if no one responds to your thread the first time around, you’re allowed to bump it.

Have you considered dual enrollment at a community college?

Look at their required/recommended classes, although most schools will recommend/require the same subjects: 4 years of English, 4/3 years of math, etc. As long as you fulfill those requirements, show a healthy involvement in the community, pursue your interests (joining clubs, etc.), you stand a good chance in being accepted to any school, including Emerson.

most of yours app is still unwritten

-get good grades(3.6 and up), and don’t slack of soph year like i did
-get good sat scores
-do something other than study and watch tv, that internship looks good

basically, it’s like two years too early to tell

is it better to take dual classes or AP?

It depends on from which one you’d learn more.

i’d go w/ ap

I’d also go with AP, they’re a better indicator for peer performance.

While agonizing through all of this, don’t forget to make time for happiness.

So I would be better off taking AP classes as opposed to a dual enrollment?
