Anything similar to CVW?

I'm fairly new to these discussions and have been following the threads for all of the service academies. My daughter is in the application process at West Point. We have been told that her file will be reviewed at the next Admissions Board meeting. Although she attended the IAW last summer I would like to know if there is a program similar to the CVW that is available for Naval Academy candidates. It sounds like a great opportunity to get another look before making any decisions.

Yes. Admitted candidates can spend the night at West Point with a cadet. I don't believe it's as structured as CVW, as you need to have an appointment first (many fewer qualify). Reportedly, it is a real-world glimpse.

Good luck to your daughter!

You will get an invite to a weekend if you get an LOA as well from WP.

momoftwins: West Point offers daytime orientation visits for prospective candidates. These visits are discussed in the admissions section of the USMA website.

Overnight orientation visits (two days, one night) are offered Monday through Friday during the academic term to candidates that have received a letter of assurance. I don't know for sure but they may also be offered to recruited athletes. These overnight visits were offered last fall and again Jan. 18 through April 28th. The admissions public relations office asks that you give them two weeks advance request.

Thanks to each of you. I appreciate what I'm learning here - especially while we're on pins and needles.
