<p>Needs to be light but I don't care about size
Needs to be sturdy because I always drop things
I prefer Windows XP but I think after playing around w/ my dad's computer, I wouldn't mind going Vista. Mac and I have never gotten along.
Needs to be available in office edition or whatever that has Word, PPt. etc. (duh)
And kinda nice looking? maybe even girly...
And not over $1000?
Oh and some brand with awesome customer service because I know I'm gonna screw up somehow</p>
<p>Check out the Lenovo ThinkPads: <a href=“http://shop.lenovo.com/SEUILibrary/controller/e/na/LenovoPortal/en_US/catalog.workflow:expandcategory?current-catalog-id=12F0696583E04D86B9B79B0FEC01C087¤t-category-id=8FA114A7D9FF4F38AE8E19B36EC665A7[/url]”>http://shop.lenovo.com/SEUILibrary/controller/e/na/LenovoPortal/en_US/catalog.workflow:expandcategory?current-catalog-id=12F0696583E04D86B9B79B0FEC01C087¤t-category-id=8FA114A7D9FF4F38AE8E19B36EC665A7</a></p>
<p>They’re very durable and their customer service has been great in my experience.</p>
<p>srunni must be getting commission for advertising lenovo on CC here
HAHAHAH just kidding</p>
<p>(if im right… hook up some deals baby! =] hahha)</p>
<p>Yeah, im also looking to get a Thinkpad =]</p>
<p>I think Sony has the BEST customer service ever. But they’re usually expensive.</p>
<p>I would also recommend the DELL XPS 1530. The main reason is that it supports up to 1920x1200 resolution which is SUPER AWESOME for a 15 inch laptop but that might make it over 1000 dollars.</p>
<p>No one laptop is better than the other. I suggest that you go to each good company’s website (Sony, HP, Dell, Lenovo etc) and look around. Find the one that really suits your needs. Some of the things to look out for:
- Almost all of the companies put a lot of bloatware on the computers, so, it’d be good if you reinstall windows.
- If you want XP, make sure that the company has XP drivers for that specific laptop.
- Some companies charge a lot for additional RAM. If you’re good with computers, I suggest that you buy your own RAM from NEWEGG.com if it’s cheaper.
- Same goes for the hard drive.
- I really recommend that you can a little wireless usb mouse for the laptop. I really don’t like those touchpad thingies.
- also look at [Newegg.com</a> - Computer Parts, PC Components, Laptop Computers, Digital Cameras and more!](<a href=“http://www.newegg.com%5DNewegg.com”>http://www.newegg.com) for laptops. They have some very good ones.
- Almost all of the laptops come with Office, but only a trial, usually a 2 month. They charge extra for the full edition. I suggest that you buy the Student and Teacher edition. It has all the cool stuff.</p>
