If I am staying up late at night, does anyone know any buildings that have comfortable couches or chairs that one may rest in? Anything in Etcheverry or Soda by chance?

lol u should just get sleep in ur own bed. I don’t know why everyone stays up so late. I always get 8 hours of sleep no matter what.

when i walk into the VLSB library around 11 am, everyone is knocked out on the couches there lol.

evans library has a couch too.

The libraries close at a certain time. I’m pretty sure that there is a place where engineers sleep when they stay at the lab to finish a big project.

There is a lounge at the 5th floor of Etcheverry.

I think u can sleep in the architecture studio. might want to double check though. and i think u have to sneak in behind someone.

It might be a little far… Morrison Library is the one on the right when you walk in to Doe/Bancroft library from the memorial glade. Really cozy atmosphere, and nice couches. People are ALWAYS sleeping there.

why don’t people just go back to their room? is it really that bad?

@clueless: Some people live really far. The time spent walking back and forth is time better spent napping.

The thing is that my place is too far away, especially from north side. If I end up doing a project where I need to be in the lab, then I might end up being their for ages. Also I am thinking about commuting and it will not be worth it to head back home for only a few hours.

What places are open at night? I am sure the most places require a keycard, but for most places you can just apply and get access.

the hobos seem to manage…

for november, its still not that cold. ergo, i sleep on benches or sproul steps if i please and dont give a rats arse what others may think

you sleep on sproul steps?

you dont???

theyre way comfy. all you kiddies with your bony asses can only sleep on soft little sofas i guess.

I’ve been roughing it out on the streets for weeks. Living like a squatter from place to place, scavenging for food wherever i can find it. I’ve started collecting aluminum and glass cans…not for recycling, but to make a house in the middle of memorial glade. I sit outside subway on bancroft and telegraph on a piece of cardboard screaming obscenities at passers by. My stench is usually enough for them to not come within 5 feet of me and my appearance makes them avert their gaze, but oh…if I really want them to not pay attention to me, I scream at them as loud as I can.
I’ve also been known to walk around campus in my dirty clothes and a “CAL” sweatshirt that I clearly stole or found. I pretend to be a student by carrying around a backpack and blend in with you students. The tricks on you though, there’s nothing in the backpack except more aluminum cans! I am clearly superior for being able to pretend that I am well educated (as opposed to actually being educated) and I tricked you…i think. I still smell and look pretty gross (like ke$ha) but oh well, no point worrying over small things like that. I’ve got a busy night. I need to harass some lowly freshmen on their way home on channing and watch a movie at peoples park on the portable DVD player that my friends Mountain, Sage, and Everest stole from an unsuspecting tourist.

the sproul steps are nothing.

lololol

theres the one dude that has like a hp pavillion, psp and sound system. is that the guy youre talking about

You mean the “homeless guy” who plays music from his solar powered sound system grocery cart? He is a cool dude. I heard that he was EECS in a previous life.
