I was accepted as AOI rather than directly into computer engineering. Will this make me behind other engineering kids in anyway or will I still be eligible to take the same courses related to computer engineering? What are the requirements in order to be officially declared as comp. engineering?
From what I understand, kids directly accepted to a major will get priority registration for classes but you are still eligible to take the same courses related to comp sci…if you are AOI comp sci as long as you get a B- or higher in CSE 114 or CSE 214 and a combined GPA of 3.0 or higher in those 2 classes then you will be admitted to the comp sci major.
What I am curious about is if you are accepted to Stony Brook as an UNDECLARED MAJOR can you still take comp sci classes or do you need to get authorization from the comp sci dept to register for those classes…
