<p>AP tests give you college credit so that you can skip certain classes (depending on the school). Most people take AP classes which help prepare for the exams. They are not admission tests, although doing well on APs could only help your chances.</p>
<p>AP exams don’t matter nearly as much as taking the class itself and doing well. Colleges will look at your course load for high school, see how many AP classes you took, and then seeing how many AP courses are offered by your school. </p>
<p>You don’t even have to report your AP scores to colleges, if they are low.</p>
