AP & Aice Credits questions

I have already checked the exam credits page on the UF website and know most of what will transfer. My questions is about classes like AICE BIZ or AICE T&T, AP Comp Sci Principles or AP Enviro. Those are listed as L000. I know they don’t fulfill any GenEd requirements or count towards a major. When looking at a model semester plan, do they count towards plain old non restricted electives? @Melissa96

From the UF Catalog: https://catalog.ufl.edu/UGRD/academic-advising/exam-credit/#examstext-otp1

“The L000 course number has no UF course equivalent. The credit applies to the minimum credits for the degree but does not provide credit toward general education, writing requirement, or count toward the major.”

So it would count towards the 120 (or 128, in some engineering majors etc.) for your degree, but NOT fulfill any specific requirement. There is a limit of 45 credits from AP, so IMO only opt for L000 credits AFTER you have taken all the course equivalent credits you can and want to.

I read that before I posted. So, it won’t count towards plain old non specific electives? The model semester plan for marketing has “elective” 3 credits with no details. My daughter will have 9AP, 4 Aice and 3 Dual Enrollment, so all of those credits should count.

Looking at the marketing degree requirements in the UF Catalog, there are restricted electives and just “electives.” If it’s restricted, there is a list of electives you can choose from (https://catalog.ufl.edu/UGRD/colleges-schools/UGBUS/MKG_BSBA/#text .) If not, you’ll likely be able to apply test credit, though your advisor will be able to provide you with more information.

Yes, non restrictive electives. When students have more than 45 test credits those are the first to be noncredited since they do the least for students.
