AP Art History

I'm considering taking the Art History exam, but have only independent studied art history? What types of things should I study? I'm guessing pre-Renaissance art (which I haven't studied) is pretty important. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I personally think that AP Art History would be one of the most difficult exams to self-study, just because of the wealth of information you are expected to know. The MC is extremely detailed (even more than I anticipated) and the details you must include in your essays are hard to learn and reinforce from a textbook. But, if you are stong in it, you can go for it. If you get a really good textbook it might help, but as I said the essay test is a killer if you don't thoroughly know the vocab and how to apply it. In my class we wrote on slides with practice AP prompts everyday from the first week of class.

If you look on collegeboard they have the breakdown for time periods. My teacher was amazing and had her doctorate in Art History, and has been teaching (Art History) for 20 years. She really prepared me for the test, and I honestly don't think I could have done so well without her instruction on my own, especially if you are just looking into it now. If you are looking at it next year, see if there is an online class you can take (like on flvs.net) I don't know what their quality is, but it is better than trying on your own (in my opinion).

I will have finished 15 AP classes at the end of the year, and besides possibly AP Chemistry, I think that Art History would be the hardest to self-study.
