Just wondering, how difficult is this course, and is it worth it? I've taken ap european history-- would that help? Is it easy to get a good grade, and is the AP exam hard? thanks.

It's really not hard at all. I did absolutely no outside studying, just listened to my teacher lecture, and I got a 4. It's really broad, and most stuff is open to interpretation.

I think Euro does help, if you studied any art at all for the exam. I knew most of my Impressionists for Euro and it has helped immensely when memorizing artist names to have those ones done already.

I have a general interest in art... I'll consider taking it :)

what's good self-study material?

The REA AP Art History is brand new, and it's excellent. The Annotated Mona Lisa and The Annotated Arch were all that were available previously, and both are still pretty good. That's all I can really say about self-study.

Thanks. Do they cover everything?

Don't want to hijack, but does anybody know whether Aegean art is considered beyond the European tradition?

Aegean Art is NOT beyond the European tradition. However, Ancient Near East and Ancient Egypt are beyond the European tradition.

Heyjude is right! The REA book is a great help!
