i'm going into my junior year, and here is my schedule as i had planned it:

AP English 11
AP American History
AP Calc AB
Physics
Spanish 11
Studio Art 2
Health 11

so right now i have 2 free periods that i could fill with a whole credit, and i was thinking of taking AP Art History. it's a new course offered at my school, and i wanted to know if anyone had taken it and if you could tell me how hard it is. i don't want to add a class that will be too stressful, especially with it being my junior year. thanks a lot.

To be honest it depends on the teacher.

I had the most amazing guy on the face of the planet as my teacher...he could teach all the material in a way that never got boring. In that way I was willing to do the work that was required.

However, I can easily see how a boring teacher could make the class and assignments dreadful...it is a lot of studying and memorizing, so be prepared.

If you have a teacher that knows what they´re talking about, you´ll be fine. I didn´t think the class was that hard.

We almost never had homework, and we had a few papers to write. However, we took an insane amount of notes. However, I didn´t think the AP exam was overwhelming.

Also, AP Art History is considered to be one of the easier AP classes, well at least at my school. I think the class was worth it.

the class is worth it. i took ap art history this year, got a 5 and all i did was read the textbook. we did however have the 9 pound gardner's ar through the ages so that helped a lot!

its a great class regardless of the teacher!

i took it and really liked it (though some of my posts suggest otherwise) after taking the class, along with the ap, i feel like it was one of the most valuable aps i have taken because it makes you a more well rounded person. there are a lot essays involved, not that much hw at least with my teacher, but a lot of reading. if you enjoy art and history i would definately take it.
