Hello. My daughter is considering taking AP Art History next year, as a Junior, along with 2 other AP's. Could you tell me if UF will calculate it into their GPA? I'm not sure if it is counted as a core or not. Thanks

I think they add .5 for AP and IB classes. Not quite sure. Check the UF website.

Yes, they count all AP classes into your weighted UF GPA, regardless if it doesn’t fall specifically under the 5 core classes.

Thanks Ryan

AP Art History is an academic class so it’s definitely part of the UF GPA. Love the class, too, your D should take it (if she likes art AND history) :)

^ And if she likes neither, I hope she’s ready to be bored out of her mind.

D really enjoyed the class – pretty good teacher and she’d been to Europe right before she took the class with a program through church. So she’d been to the Louvre and Rodin’s garden and seen some of the architecture discussed in class, which, of course, enhanced the class. At UF she took History of Architecture for one of her electives her first semester and discovered it was a really easy course for her because she remembered so much from her AP art history class.
