AP Bio, APES, or Honors Physics?

What do you think? I absolutely refuse to take another year of chem and therefore, have narrowed it down to the three (and I have already checked-at Adams State College there is NOOOOOOOO chemistry requirement and there are other classes where I can get my labs). This is my junior year that I'll be scheduling for, and I was curious what you guys would suggest.

I really hate Chemistry too.

Out of the courses you listed, I would take AP Bio because it's better than APES (not many colleges even accept credit for a passing ES score) and it's more beneficial for you than Honors Physics.

But you might want to check and make sure that you aren't required to take a year in physics first. At my school, physics is mandatory.

It depends on the teacher.

I'm taking AP chem and AP bio this year. I thought chem last year (honors) was dumb. However, I love it this year. Because my teacher's great. However, my biology teacher is terrible and the whole class consists of her preaching the textbook to us.

I'd ask around and see what others thought of the classes.

Physics!!! (I'm not biased at all.)

Those are almost the exact same options I was considering for my junior year. I decided to take ES for IB credit and am planning on taking AP Bio next year.

If you have no partialities between the three, I would recommend AP Biology as a Junior and AP Environmental Systems as a senior.

I'm taking AP ES this year. It's far more challenging than I ever expected it to be and I 5'd the bio exam easily...

That being said, it's quite possibly one of the COOLEST classes I have ever taken - along with Biotech and AP Lang. It's this great synthesis of history, science, math, and current events... it's really discussion-oriented; a class where digressions are awesomeeeee.

It's a lot of memorization of dates and stuff, but its also common sense and just fun. If you have any interest in environmental science take it, it's a cool class.

Try taking Bio beforehand and things in APES will be so much easier...

Talk to people in your school and see which classes have better teachers, etc. Really, AP Bio is more respected than Honors Physics which is more respected than APES. If you are ok at trig, but don't want to kill yourself with science, take physics this year and AP Bio next year. If you want to major in any science in college, you will have to take chemistry, so maybe you want to get the credit in highschool instead of college when grades really matter for grad school placement.

Although I recommend physics, I agree that you should ask around. The quality and enjoyability of individual classes varies A LOT between high schools.

I recommend the AP Biology class, if it's decently taught. Physics and calculus go hand in hand; I've never seen much use for honors physics.

APES is a fairly easy class/exam, and much of it is common sense if you're familiar with biology and chemistry. I'd recommend it as an elective but not over biology or physics.
