AP Bio experience?

Hey, has anyone ever taken AP Bio AND AP Chem the same year? Because Im doing it right now and I'd like to know what you guys thought of it. And so far AP chem isnt too hard, then again its the 1st quarter, but AP Bio is throwing me off a bit. For the AP exam for bio, how far in detail does it go? We're currently doing cell respiration and I dont know if I should be memorizing each enzyme and molecule name between steps or just understanding the basics such as how much ATP is being produced and whatnot. If there are any other tips you guys have, please let me know

Thanks :D

It doesn’t go that much into detail. However, cell respiration is a HUGE topic. I would suggest knowing a lot about it and photosynthesis… CollegeBoard has a 45-question sample test on their website if you’re interested. I suggest CliffNotes study book, do NOT use Barron’s. It has WAY too much information.

Here are some example questions:

  1. Four of the five answers listed below affect the rate of an enzymatic reaction. Select the exception.
    a.pH
    b.temperature
    c.concentration
    d.built-up product
    e.presence of hormones
  2. When NAD+ combines with hydrogen, the NAD+ is
    a.reduced.
    b.oxidized.
    c.phosphorylated.
    d.denatured.
  3. Energy
a.cannot be produced by fungi and heterotrophic organisms.
    b.involves ATP in living organisms.
c.is the ability to do work.
d.usage is governed by the laws of thermodynamics.
    e.all of these

I took them in the same year. It wasn’t too bad for me. Of course, it all depends on the difficulty of the teachers in your school.

I will miss you OP

Yea I have the new CliffNotes but I thought they didnt go enough into detail, but thank you
Yea Barron’s scares me; I used it for my chem and bio subject tests. Never again o_o.
@dblazer My AP Bio teacher just kills us during the test; the rest of the time he’s just like “Don’t worry about it”. True Story.

But thank you ^_^

I will miss you as well OP. It was nice knowing you for the few seconds I did.

cough whats an OP? cough

nvm figured it out

The AP Bio test was so general that I had a completely terrible teacher, self studied for the last 2 weeks, and pulled off a 5.

AP Bio + AP Chem can be done without much problems. Just depends on how you study.

Im not that worried for chem
Its just that my bio exams in class are SOOO detailed
Like its impossible to get an A+ in that class…Im being serious

haha A+, I think it’s okay to settle for an A, seriously.

after my first quarter i was just like “Okay A…close enough!”
Ill shoot for the A+ but no one gets it

I took AP Chem as a junior. The previous teacher had made it the hardest class in the school. The new teacher had us color for our final. I wish I was kidding.

I’m in AP Bio now. It makes my brain hurt! I had the teacher freshman year. Super amazing teacher, but her tests are worded so hard! I mean I have never ever ever gotten an A+ on a test!

Neither have I

Well, thanks
I feel a bit better about the AP exam after seeing that Godly curve and looking at some of the questions
APUSH is what i’m really worried about
