ap bio or ap physics ?

hello !

i’m a sophomore right now and i’m not too sure on what classes i should take next year. i’m interested in becoming a plastic surgeon and i don’t know what classes to take to benefit myself later on

classes i’m sure on:
ap lang
ap calc ab
apush
spanish 3
my elective

should i take ap bio or ap physics ? from what i’ve heard, ap physics 1 is pretty difficult and i’m not interested in the class but i heard that colleges like a variety of sciences. i’m more interested in ap bio but i’m not sure how colleges will perceive not taking physics. thoughts ?

also, does it matter what order i take my classes in ? i want to take ap bio/ap physics and ap stats, one junior year and one senior year. does it make a difference what year i take it ?

Since you want to become a plastic surgeon, it’s good to take both AP bio and AP physics. However, since you are more interested in ap bio, I recommend you take that. College wouldn’t mind if you don’t take physics but biology instead since you want to pursue a career in the medical field. I don’t think it necessarily matters the order in which you take them in, as long as you take them. You need physics to become a surgeon, so you have to take it eventually in college.

Apush is killer homework wise, so I would recommend you do the class you are more interested in.

Some colleges do like to see physics. You could take AP Bio junior year and AP Physics senior year. It does not matter which year you take them, but I would think about leaving the option open to taking one senior year so that you have 3 lab sciences total.

^This. Colleges like to see 3 AP sciences total. It’s not mutually exclusive: if you decide to take Bio next year, you can still take Physics senior year, or vice versa.
