Hi, I'm a rising sophomore and I'm wondering whether i should take AP Bio or AP World History.

I have taken World History last year, which was just learning about Renaissance (philosophers), Enlightenment, Revolutions (A little bit of US and French) Ottoman Empire, Mughal Empire etc..

On the other hand, I 've taken 'Coordinated Science' for grade 9 which covered bio, chem and physics. For each subject I believe my class has spent a good 2-3 months on each.

Here's my dilemma:

Should I take AP Bio without taking a year-long course of bio

or AP World History?

I feel as if im ready for AP World History but I want to be enrolled in AP Bio because im a typical math/science guy

HEEELELLLLPPP p.s I have to finish my course selection form in 24 hours

pss I’m moving schools and it offers 1 ap course for sophomores
plus i havent studied anything about bio during summer and school starts less than 3 weeks. should i study? if so, could u recommend me books that would help me study?

And for history, Im not that confident about writing essays and such

Why not ask your school if you can do both?

But if that’s not possible, choose based on what you want to go into in the future. You said you’re more of a math/science guy, so I’m guessing you’ll want to major in math/science. If that’s the case, take AP bio.

bio.
ap world is a really long course, (our school split it into two years- a bit overkill in my opinion but there’s a lot of stuff to study) and furthermore, it is the ap that prob. gets the least credit.

if you have med school in mind, they don’t accept ap bio credit; but at least you’ll have a good background for college

if you absolutely must choose ONE of the two, definitely go with bio.

World History is really, really easy. Unless the course is going to present a lot of additional and fun info, you can do as well self studying. And barely even that. Most of the test is, like, common sense. So, I’d say go with Bio.

No one cares that you took coordinated science, it provides little basis for chem/physics/ or bio.

Do what you’re interested in. I suggest you do both though.
