AP Bio or EPGY??!!

So I have the option of either taking EPGY's Bioscience course OR taking a chemistry course that will give me high school credit and allow me to take AP Bio next year.

I'm very passionate about science, and I'm hoping to land either an internship/lab volunteering next summer or a summer science program that is a level up from EPGY and COSMOS. (I'm currently a freshman by the way)

So be brutal. Do you honestly think that I'm trying to bite off more than I can chew? I know five sophomores who are taking AP Chem right now and are doing fine, but I'm not sure how that correlates to AP Bio. Any opinions?

AP bio doesn’t require too much chem/thinking. It’s a lot of memorizing how things work. It wouldn’t be too hard. Might be a lot of work though.

Also, COSMOS and EPGY aren’t on the same level… COSMOS > EPGY x 2. more or less

I vote… chem. since i think as long as you’re doing something productive, it will help your app. It doesn’t matter TOO much, especially in this case. SInce chem will help you advance, i would do it. There are always more prestigious camps next year.

Thanks so much for your advice. I know that AP Bio doesn’t require alot of chem, but it’s a prerequisite at my school :frowning: So I’m torn between spending the summer learning about something I love (albeit at a money-stealing program) or spending the summer learning chem and taking AP Bio the next year.
And yea…COSMOS is way better than EPGY in terms of both price and selectivity. But unfortunately I missed the deadline this year…I’m not sure if I want to pursue it sophomore summer though…
