Hey All!

I'm preparing my senior course-load for this school year. I'm interested in majoring in Biology once I enter college.

So far I've got:
AP psych
AP lit
Foundations of tech(mandatory)
Genetics.

I have a halfday schedule because I'll be working part-time. But I'm able to have 3 classes on 1 day an 2 on the other.

Should I fill that one spot with AP bio?

If you think taking a math will make my application more attractive, should I take precalc or AP stats?

-thanks

It will not look great that you haven’t taken precalc before senior year, because obviously you therefore can’t take calc, which is what they’d probably expect to see from a competitive applicant (the best applicants will be taking AP Calc).
So it’s a tough question: taking AP Stats, so that you at least have an AP math-oriented course, or taking precalc.
My recommendation would be to take the precalc. Since there’s a good chance that you’ll be taking some calculus-oriented physics in college, you’ll then be in a better position to start right into Calc in college.

If you’re planning on majoring in biology, I would strongly recommend taking AP Bio. Math would make your application more attractive, but AP Bio would be a higher priority.

I agree with AP Bio.

AP Bio would make the most sense in my opinion. If not AP Bio, then probably precalc.

Ideally, you’d take both AP Bio and precalc. (I really don’t think it would be a good thing to not even have precalc on your application; not having calc is bad enough.)
Would it be possible to drop either AP Psych (which is generally regarded as a “soft” AP, while AP Bio gets much more respect) or Genetics?
